The Dolly Parton Birthing Unit offers family-centered maternity care in beautiful rooms, complete with views of the Smoky Mountains. Our spacious Emergency Department provides excellent emergency care, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our Surgery department features 4 expanded Surgical Suites, and 2 Endoscopy suites. Every area of the hospital offers private patient rooms for the privacy and comfort of our patients and their families.
LeConte Medical Center offers outstanding diagnostic services including Laboratory Services, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Imaging Services such as MRI, Ultrasound, and CT Scan. The Dolly Parton Center for Women’s Services features the Breast Center where women can have their annual mammograms, biopsies if needed, as well as bone density exams. The Center also includes the county’s only hospital-based Sleep Disorders Center.

Water Safety Day Takes Over Dollywood's Splash Coutry On Friday, June 20
With the rising temperatures of summer setting in for the season, families across East Tennessee are taking to the water to find relief from the heat. To keep these families safe during water activities, Dollywood’s Splash Country, LeConte Medical Center, The Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation, WATE-TV and Star 102.1 are proud to present Water Safety Day at Dollywood’s Splash Country on Friday, June 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to nearly a dozen informational safety and wellness booths, the event also features the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson (WLSL), a worldwide simultaneous swim lesson vying to set a new Guinness World Record™.
Volunteers Award Scholarships
Annually the Volunteers at LeConte Medical Center award scholarships to employees, volunteers, and children of employees pursuing a career in healthcare, or enhancing their current career. This week the scholarship committee, represented by volunteers Julia Householder and Bob Clements, presented checks totaling $3500 to this years’ recipients.
Nursing Home Employee Recognized with Caring Hearts Award
Alzheimer’s Tennessee recognized a record number of caregivers this year who demonstrated extraordinary care to those living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia as “Caring Hearts.” Among those honored was Fort Sanders Sevier Nursing Home employee, Candace Lamon.
Nurses Recognized for Excellence
As part of the 2014 National Nurses Week celebration, May 6-12, LeConte Medical Center recognized seven of its outstanding nurses who serve as examples of the top leaders and exceptional professional nurses at LeConte Medical Center.
High School Sports Physicals Scheduled
LeConte Sports Medicine is gearing up for our annual pre-participation athletic screenings! All student athletes in Sevier County are required by the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TSSAA) to have a pre-participation screening in order to be eligible for tryouts or practices for the 2014-15 school year.
LeConte Sports Medicine supports STOP Sports Injuries Campaign
Leaders at LeConte Medical Center and LeConte Sports Medicine are coming together with the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, National Athletic Trainers’ Association, National Strength and Conditioning Association and Safe Kids USA to promote the STOP Sports Injuries campaign.
LeConte Employee Recognized during Covenant Health Performance Excellence Awards
Covenant Health celebrated performance excellence and process improvement across the health system at their annual 2013 Performance Excellence Awards celebration, held Oct. 29. During this event, Michael Sutton, LeConte Medical Center Plant Engineering, was named as one of the winners of the 2013 Everest Award.
Community Group Participates in Pink Glove Dance Competition to Raise Awareness
Local charity Paint the Mountains Pink, part of the Dr. Robert F. Thomas Foundation, could win $25,000, to help provide mammograms to the women in Sevier County, who need them but cannot afford them. They need your help to win! A local group, Sevier County for Paint the Mountains Pink, has been working the past few months on their video entry for the national competition, the “Pink Glove Dance,” sponsored by medical supply company Medline. How can you vote?
