LeConte Medical Center Receives a “B” for Outstanding Patient Safety

LeConte Medical Center is Working Hard to Improve Patient Safety

LeConte Medical Center is proud to announce the hospital has received a “B” grade from the Leapfrog Group, awarded in spring 2019 for their commitment to exceptional patient safety and meeting the highest quality and safety standards. Leapfrog’s Hospital Safety Grade rates how well hospitals protect patients from errors, injuries, accidents and infections.

“We are proud to receive a “B” from the Leapfrog Group,” said Gaye Jolly, CAO LeConte Medical Center. “These hard-earned grades are evidence of the outstanding efforts made by our clinical and quality teams to improve patient safety and clinical quality.”

The Leapfrog Group is an independent, national nonprofit health care ratings organization striving to make giant leaps forward in the safety, quality and affordability of health care in the U.S.  Developed under the guidance of a Blue Ribbon National Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 27 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign A, B, C, D and F grades to more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals twice per year.  Scores are calculated by top patient safety experts, peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.

“This is an important achievement and substantiates our efforts to provide the highest quality care to our patients in the safest environment possible.” states Jolly. LeConte Medical Center remains committed to achieving the highest quality standards and outcomes and welcomes the clarity that measurement and reporting bring to the process.”
