Obstetricians & Gynecologists, commonly referred to as OB/GYNs, focus on women's health needs before, during, and after pregnancy. They also provide medical and surgical treatment of the female reproductive and urinary systems.
LeConte Medical Center offers a full host of OB/GYN services, including the Dolly Parton Birthing Unit, GYN surgical services, Mammography, Bone Densitometry (for the diagnosis of Osteoporosis), and Sterotactic and Mammotome Breast Biopsies (a non-surgical biopsy used to determine whether an abnormal finding in the breast is benign or malignant).
