Dr. McWhirter is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Inc., a member board of the American Board of Medical Specialties. He received his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina College of Medicine; completed his residency and internship at Emory University School of Medicine; and completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic. Dr. McWhirter is Board Certified in Sleep Medicine.
The Sleep Disorders Center at LeConte Medical Center is the only hospital-based Sleep Disorders Center is Sevier County.
